Malkin recognizes that Poly Prep Country Day School was pivotal in shaping his life. A highly successful real estate investor, he is chairman emeritus of Empire State Realty Trust and Malkin Holdings, with a portfolio that includes the Empire State Building. “I’ve been fortunate in my life, and it all began at Poly,” he said.

Recognizing how deeply Poly shaped his life, Malkin decided to establish a legacy gift that will provide educational opportunities for future generations of Poly students: “The most important thing Poly taught me was that each of us has the potential to do good in this world. That’s what I want people to always remember about me—that I shared my good fortune with others.”
